Speaking of I5 diesels. I've got one laying around in the garage
that I'd always thought I'd stuff into the 5KCSTQ when the gas
engine self destructed. As I now know, that doesn't usually happen.
This is out of an early '80s 5000D.

It seemed to me that I could bolt on the gas engine manifolds
complete with turbo, just skipping the CIS parts of the intake
    system.

Anybody iwth a burning desire to assemble a TD Quattro, let
me know ... a deal could be made.

And speaking of turning the wastegate adjusting screw 3 turns,
at the same time you ought to turn the fuel pump's adjustment
screw in a 1/4 or 1/2 turn or so, and advance the timing a bit.
You'd be suprised how much more power you can pull out of those
diesels! Email me off the list to talk about this, since
probably there aren't many who are too interested in squeezing
    their fuel this way!
