The crank pulley test isn't conclusive on its own.

It isn't necessarily a 'grim' suggestion.  Nominally, and also
practically in my experience, it's a non-interference engine.  Given
that the event occured at idle and you didn't report horrible noises,
you have pretty good odds in your favour.
