RE: RS2 (K24/K26)??

The bell housing configuration is completely different for a VW/Audi 4cyl
than it is for the Audi 5cyl. The 924 4cyl engine, based on an Audi truck
engine (I'm told) is much closer configuration to the Audi 5cyl. Visually it
has always looked to me that a 5cyl engine could bolt directly up to a
924/944 bell housing but I have never had the two out where I could attempt
it. In my opinion one of the biggest problems with the 924 was the vibration
of the engine, the car literally unbolts itself every where from vibrations.
The "so smooth" Audi 5cyl. in one would be really cool.
Let us know what you do with it.
Good luck

European Car had a 'Project 924' that spanned several
issues. May be of
help to you if you haven't seen already. They tried a lot
of performance
mods. Don't know exact vol or issue.

Second that, VW 16V would be a good choice. The 16V
Scirocco, which weighs
about the same as the early 924, was actually tested
(Road&Track?) and found
to be faster than the base 147hp 944.

But don't want to kybosh your I-5 aspirations. MC in a 2100
lb car would be
		awesome. Good luck.
