If it attaches like the 86 and up type 44's (and I'm sure it does), what you
are talking about won't work.  The sunroof headliner shell has a formed
opening with metal tabs that attach to a aluminum bracket that keeps the
headliner up in the center.  I think it would also look like crap to cut it.
Buy headliner material and recover the thing or have someon else do it.  All
the work is in the R&R, not the recovering...
