I would recommend staying away from the puny little ICs Ford put on their SVO 
cars; likewise, the IC on the Chrysler Conquest/Mitsu Starion isn't 
particularly good and the one Toyota used on their turbo MR-2 is likewise a 
dud.  I don't know much about any other production ICs although I do have 
some experience with the bit Volvo IC and found that it works very well, 
provided you can figure out a way to fit it to the car.
