Re: 93 90CS Auto transmission problem

Well, that seems to have fixed it. I looked through the archives and
found detailed instructions on the R&R of the ISV. The detailed
instructions describe removing a lot more items than I did to get at
the ISV. Also, several people mentioned (in the Archives) to use
)xygen Sensor safe cleaner, etc. Unfortunately I could never find
anything with that designation. I did find throttle body cleaner,
which seemed milder than the carb&choke cleaners.

After removing the ISV, I was trying hard to understand what it does.
It connects just past the throttle body, to two ports. I couldn't see
anything in the ports to tell if they did anything other than feed into
the intake manifold. THe ISV itself had an open port and what appears
to be a sliding gate. The car was warm when I took it off and the gate
was open 2-3MM. The gate was spring loaded and would spring towards
closing off and going past the 2-3MM opening. I didn't mess with it
too much past that point. So it opens and closes which ???? Anyone
know what this actually does.
