Is this as you're coasting down to a stop? Presumably a
4->3 downshift under power works fine?

If so, it might be the ISV. When mine quit, things seemed okay
cold, but once the engine was hot it would stall after I
stepped on the clutch as I came to a stop.

Sometimes the RPM would just plunge to 400 or so and then
swing back up...
