Ah ha, I had forgotten about the caliper bolts.  This happened to me about 2 
miles from a scrapyard after pulling into a gas station.  I had just picked 
up a coolant temp gauge and the folks there looked at me funny when I came 
back in soaked with sweat (95 deg F. day and typical Baltimore humidity) with 
one Allen wrench in hand.  Fortunately, when the brake locked, I didn't force 
it, so the pads were fine, just rebolted the upper part of the caliper and 
checked the rest on the car at that time. Very glad that it wasn't the tranny.
