Where does WG control pressure go ?

Hi, all.

Just tested my WG today. As it allready was off i thought this would be the
best time to check it.

Did it by applying pressurized air to ctrl-press. intake on the WG.

Started at 0bar, slowly increasing pressure. At 1.6bar the WG was fully
open.
Suppose this is std operation ?

The big question is, however , that i can hear the applied ctrl-pressure air
venting INTO the WG, ie into the exhaust system.

This indicates a torn diaphragm, - doesn't it ?

If it is (torn) , i'd have to buy a new WG , wouldn't i ?
