Re: coupla MC motor questinons..
Jeff,
You have more experience in the area (Phx, AZ) between the two
of us, but I have found a couple of yards that you pull your own
parts, and these places "seem like" they would sell you a cam
only.
These are "traditional", mostly domestic yards, and do not have a
lot of Audi's, but they do have them. I got some G60 calipers and
brackets from one place, and a bunch of 4k parts from another. I
haven't tried to buy anything too piecemeal, but I did have to pay
separately for the turn signals in a 4k front bumper.
This is in contrast to the yards that specialize in German or
European parts, that may not even let you pull yer own, and
practically have all their inventory on some kind of a tracking
system. Places like 20th Street Auto, who is moving away from
Audi's, and concentrating more on Porsche's of late I think.
You, I think, once mentioned that you tend to buy new, due to your
enhanced financial empowerment, so you may only frequent the
more esoteric yards. I'm pullin' parts off Audi's next among Pintos
and the like. <g>
The yards I'm talking about are located, IIRC, on Broadway, on the
west side of Phoenix. I forget the cross street, perhaps around
20th Avenue (?).
I still would like to get the Audi-dudi Tour of Phoenix Audi Sites, if
there is ever one available. Let me know <g>.
