Re: URQ sorting out
Last night I purchased a new meter which is much easier to use and more
accurate. I did check out all the wires at the ECU connector for continuity
(all passed). What I found was that the cycle will change. Cold start =
61.2%. After about a minute it goes to 49.1%. If I manually trip the WOT
switch, DC goes to 61.2%. Through all this the idle of the car doesn't
change. I backed out the mixture screw till the idle dropped, and then slowly
brought it back (removing allen wrench and blipping the throttle to reset the
plate). The cycle would then drop to as low as 4 and then climb back up to
49.1%. This was all after the engine was good and warm. A few times when I
tripped the WOT the DC would go to 61.2% and stay there. The only way to get
it back to 49.1% was to turn the mixture screw. At least now I know that all
the wiring is correct, and the computer is functioning and trying to correct
the F/A mix.
Interesting stuff. The engine _feels_ like I'm getting closer. A down the
block road test tonight is called for (no plates or registration yet), but
need to put it under load.
Many of you have been extremely helpful. Thanks
