I recall your pair of cars from CO parked at the Hotel Howard D. was staying
at in Salinas.

If that "canyon" was Barloy Canyon Road...you guys were *very* lucky not to
have ended up in federal prison thanks to the anal and radar carrying Army
Presidio Police that still patrol those roads, and do so with a vengance on
race weekends.

That said, I envy the fun you had and and certainly glad you did not get
caught. FWIW, I too would not have joined in the caravan given what I know of
the military police enforcement around Laguna Seca on former Fort Ord
property. Even the track themselves goes out of their way to warn of
this...have for years. I have seen so many people pulled over for less than 5
mph (no s**t) over the limit (35 in most cases) that I never tempt fate
there.

Consider yourselves lucky and I'm glad you had fun! ;-)

PS: Heading back to Laguna Seca Oct. 9 and 10 (and maybe even Friday the 8th)
for ALMS. Too bad Audi chicked out and isn't running there. (Rumor has it
they did not go to Petit Le Mans and Laguna Seca because they knew they could
not beat BMW...and Panoz now it seems...in a straight up fight, which sucks.
Develop the damm car to win, don't give up!!!)
