in my country peter, if you made the claim that i "stiffed the irs for
thousands of dollars", i would sue you for defamation.  point clear?  this
is a public forum, and personal attacks on matters such as these are
uncalled for.  if you feel that you are justified in making them, you should
understand your legal position fully.

i attempted to make my comments in a light-hearted manner, to point out the
danger and difficulty of throwing stones.

Insuring that the IRS, or Revenue Canada, get's no more than they are
legally entitled to does not equate to "stiffing".  Many people are ignorant
of their legal rights as far as exemptions and write-off's. Ensuring that
taxes paid are no more than taxes due keeps more money in circulation and is
therefore better for the economy in general thereby increasing incomes and
in turn tax revenues.

point out (and apologies in advance if i've got this wrong), but aren't
you/didn't you used to be in the tax business?  which means that you make
