RE: ATF for hydraulic fluid

OK.... I'll get things going here...
I've used NAPA Power steering fluid for years in my 87 5kq. The thing has a
leaky rack that I haven't got around to replace and the OE hydro fluid was
just too expensive. The NAPA stuff seems to work fine with no ill results.
Doesn't leak any more (or any less) than before. Others I know have used
this also with no problems.
This isn't ATF but a power steering fluid. Have no idea if it's compatable,
but has worked for me and probably saved me tons. The rack seems to work
fine, just leaks and at about 2 bucks a quart I can afford to top off the
bottle once in a while. For the record, my 90 v8q doesn't have any leaks
yet, so I did buy some hydraulic fluid for that. Once it starts to become
the "Audi Valdees", I will use the NAPA in it.
For a little better price on hydro oil check

Not an endorsement, just got my bottle there.
