I would deal with Bilstein directly. Technically their warranty only
applies to the original owner so I wouldn't offer up to Bilstein that you
didn't buy them. Tell them you no longer have the receipt. They may bitch
some but they will replace the shocks. Fortunately Bilstein's East coast
warehouse is here in Connecticut so when my shocks were shot I drove down
there with them. The guy I talked to gave me a song and dance about needing
a receipt. I told him that it had been 5+ years since I bought them so I no
longer had it and why did I need one if they had a Lifetime warranty anyway?
He gave me 4 new shocks and a new receipt.
