I certainly understand this line of thinking but for many of us, the process 
is as much fun as the results ... and there's also some comfort to be had in 
knowing that everything's been done to your satisfaction.   Much of the work 
I do can't be justified using a strict opportunity-cost analysis but this 
only means that the equation used doesn't account for the many intangible 
benefits that accrue to me and not that as a consumer, I'm acting in an 
irrational manner...
