need info - FAST! 86 5KTQ distributor

I'm doing a tune up on the 86 5KTQ and getting my parts from NAPA dealer
here in town.  His books (bibles?) list rotors for a 10 mm distributor
shaft and a 14mm distributor shaft for the 86 5KTQ?  Is there anything
on the car, VIN # or anything like that to help me find out which one I
have?  I do know that my car is actually a late 85 if this helps.  He
has ordered both of them for me and they will be here tomorrow ( if the
Audi gods permit) along with the distributor cap and new wires.  Anybody
BTDT?

On the distributor wires, his bibles also show 2 different sets.  One is
listed for use with distributor cap with "centre stud". I looked at my
cap and didn't see a centre stud so we ordered the other set.   Any BTDT
on this either?

Seems like 86 was the year for a lot of changes!!
