RE: Power Mirrors on 86 4kq

I don't remember the fuse number, but it is under the hood, and I believe
that its the same fuse that operates the pneumatic locks. This is one of
the few things that doesn't yet work correctly on my car as well. I'd say
that the first thing to do is to disassemble the control switch module and
clean it up. It appears that the one in my car had a bit of water in it at
some point in is life. It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble the
thing (AAMOF you can completely remove the little PC board that the switches
operate on without much problem) ... but be careful not to lose any of the
little ball bearings that form the switches.

After doing this my fuse no longer blows, and I can hear the solenoids
pulling in on both mirrors, but I still can't seem to make either motor
spin. I'll be looking into it further, and if I find anything I'll post the
results, but if anyone else has any thoughts, please post them as I doubt
that we are the only two with the problem. Right now I've got more pressing
problems to resolve first ...
