Try dismantling and cleaning the switch in the armrest.  The rocker and
joystick move pairs of little metal balls across a printed circuit board.
Mine had so much dirt and lint in there that the balls couldn't make contact
with the printed circuits.  My mirrors gradually died over time (until I
cleaned the switch - now they work perfectly).  If your mirrors worked fine
and died suddenly, I would suspect something else - but cleaning the switch
is easy and should probably be done anyway if it never has been.

ATTN. 4KQ Wizards. I know that I have seen someone discuss how to 
troubleshoot power mirror failure on 4kq.  Cannot seem to determine which 
fuse under the hood, driver's side near firewall, if any, feed the control 
switches. Wires through the door appear unscraped. Any help welcome. Michael
