I don't think it's oil - I think it's a petroleum condensate.  Either
way - brush around the plugs, remove them, wipe the seats with an oily
rag (so the shit sticks to it) and reseat the plugs having cleaned
between the plug body and its crush washer.  Torque to 20 lb ft.
