Re: antilock preference on or off (and retrofit of switch)

Hi!

I was a little disappointed, when I realized, that my new (to mee)
Quattro misses the ABS-off switch. The next winter, I missed the switch
more (new snow on ice), and later on -- on a trip through Norway -- I
missed it even more (gravel roads, you know). I was much more disappointed
that the local Audi dealer refused to tell me HOW to retrofit the switch
(the switch itself costs big bucks btw...) and "my book" misses the
schematics for the ABS circuitry (as well as others, shit.)
   After a long
jurney through local auto parts stores and wreckers("Oh, these models are
too *young*, we do not part out the wrecks but sell them to poland...") I
managed to get a used ABS-off switch.
So for now: How to connect cables to temporarely disable the ABS? I can
use an on-off switch or a button (only "on" if you press the button) for
this purpose (the original is the "button" type). I want the "ABS off"
idiot light to come on if I switch off the abs, as it does when the rear
diff lock is engaged. AND I want to route as few and as short cables as
possible...
Car is an 80Q from 1993 (ABK engine).

   Thank you for the help.
   The list is great!

   Ero.
