No Spark V8Q

Took my 90 V8Q in to local repair shop for timing belt replacement. After
putting on the new belt, it has no spark. What gives? This shop is not an
Audi dealer, but does have knowledge and worked on German makes for years. I
made copies of the fiche on timing belt replacement for them. I know them
well enough that they aren't trying to sell me a bill of goods or sell
parts. Would replacing the timing belt have any effect on getting any spark
did something else go bad by coincidence? If they screwed up on the belt
replacement, would there be no spark?
