FM modulated CD changer installation in '92 100S

I will be installing an Alpine CHM-S652RF CD changer in the next few days in
my '92 100S (factory Gamma non-Bose stereo). Install looks quite easy, but
I'm looking for options on a couple of issues:

(1) Where is the best place to mount the changer unit in the trunk, under
the rear deck, or where the factory changer would go on the passenger side
floor of the trunk?
(2) Which dual-diversity antenna wire (front or rear) should I attach the FM
modulator wire to? Does the connection need to be at the radio, or can I
attach it elsewhere (like at the rear antenna amplifier)?
