I NEVER let an american car pace me unless I can see that there is no way it
is a cop driving (kids in car or something) I have saved myself at least
once with this rule as after slowing to legal we (unmarked and I) were
passed by a pair of cars going faster, he paced them, I watched them get
pulled over.
I however did get caught by this method 6 mo ago in Idaho, however we (two
of my friends driving their own cars) were blasting past traffic cruising at
100mph (75 limit) came upon a marked car that waived us over and was told
that we has passed an unmarked which tried to keep up with us to pace us "
he was doing 90 and we were running away from him" so we got written up for
90mph ($54.00).
Used the Plea-bargain method that I have used before.
#1 contest it
#2 talk to the prosecuting atty telling him that I would plea to a
nonmoving violation and that I don't mind if it costs more.
he agrees to a bond fortifuture (I don't know exactly what it is) which
will not show up anywhere in the amount of $150.00
Lucky it was Idaho as if it were Washington State I think we would have been
hauled off and cars impounded.
2 conviction out of 8 last 8yrs (clean record as the two were more than 5yrs
ago)
