Re: diffs and opinion II



On this past Sunday morning I watched the Panoz team align one of the Panoz 
ALMS Prototype class sports cars (as one of the cars that out-qualified the 
Le Mans winning BMW V12 LMRs...but only came second in the race). 

They did have the car on a service plate and of course they also 
corner-balance the car. What I found interesting was the use of monofiliment 
fishing line with machined blocks standing off the line from the wheels. Next 
a small ruler was used to measure distances from the wheel to this string on 
the side of the wheels oposite the blocks. Very simple really. Certainly was 
an "at the track" alignment check too.
