This is true but it is not. If you look up a replacement rear torsen for an
Audi V8 you will see at least five different part numbers one for one pink
dot one for two blue dots etc. these different part number are for torsens
with different amounts of torque bias (or so the audi V8 tech amnual I have
says). Generally Audi changes part numbers for two reeasons a manufacturer
change or a change in the design, but mostly a change in the design. You're
statement of "function in pretty much the same manner regardless" is a gross
over generalization. All cars function in the same manner but are we happy
driving honda's instead of Audis?
