starter compatibility

i need to change the starter in my 90.  today after my classes i go into
the parking lot to start the car and all i get is a click, nothing
else.  brand new battery as of 2 days, so i soon realized sitting there
in the parking lot, when it rains it pores.  my question is what other
cars have a starter that will fit.  i have a u-pull-it locally that
never has any audi 80 or 90's.  would a 85' vw quantum 5-cylinder fit.
