Still havin fun.. Was No Spark V8Q

OOOOOOk.........
After checking out things and pulling codes, find that the Cank Position
Sensor shows a fault.
Sensor checks OK.
SO, Put it on hold and rented the "proper" tools from Blau. Should be here
in a couple of days.. Will redo belt with them.
Couple of questions.....
Does the pin on flywheel stick out (front or rear) and is it visible from
the holes in bottom or where sensors go?
I hope it isn't broken, but by turning the flywheel and peeking in, I can't
see any pin.
2nd...
The distributors have slotted mounting holes that look like they would be
used for adjustment, but the distributor won't turn because of the "pin"
that is used to hold 3199 tool. Is this right? The distributor can be turned
180 degrees and installed to adjust but just doesn't seem right to me. I
assume distributor goes over the pin, but at this point looking for all
reasons not to pull the tranny...
