More ISV silliness

ISV question, non-cleaning related!

I recently acquired an ISV from a 88? 5K.  (Payment is on its way.)  I have
an 89 100.  Of course I forgot to ask if this ISV, though a different part
#, is compatible with the 100's wiring.

Pardon my ignorance: Will this earlier ISV cause an explosion and fire
(mis-aligned planets, etc.), or is it electrically\electronically
compatible?  Both are two prong.

P.S. It would be so cool if someone could come up with a cheaper alternative
to a new should_be_made_of_gold Audi part.  (As others have done with the
reman steering rack, bomb, etc.)
