RE: Strut cap removal tool?

For what it's worth, when I did the front strut bearings on my 89 90q I
used a 22mm angled boxed-end wrench (Sears Craftsmen, ~7.00) and an 8mm(I'd
have to go home and verify) allen-head socket. I put the box-end around the
nut, the allen socket in the strut (shaft?) and twisted.

For the wife's Passat the procedure was the same except I used a 6mm allen
head socket. I haven't done the rears on my 90q.

	Orin,

FYI -- The 2069 is exactly the right size for the strut caps on the
_rear_ of the '89 80q that I'm working on (and therefore I would
assume
that it would work on the rear of the 4kq's as well).

The fronts are a different story. The diameter of the cap is
smaller
and therefore has a smaller hex opening in the cap which the 2060
won't
fit. The Zelenda catalog (who BTW, have a very limited website at
http://www.zelenda.com) that I got from Scott shows a different tool
for
these. (Similar in appearance, just different dimensions.)

Luckily I was able to remove the front caps with a set of big effin'
pliers; they weren't stuck on like the rears.

	Just for future reference,
