Sandblasted lights

In response to a post on the quattro list with same subject.

I was thinking of wetsanding my headlights to see if I could restore the
optical quality to some degree, but before I got a chance to do that,
each of mine got a peble hole it them.  In response to an email I sent,
Hella said that they don't reccommend any fix for that condidtion as any
attempts could potentially weaken the lens.

I was curious since the replacements run $290 ea. from the dealer for my
car.  Someone on the syncro list mentioned a 3M film type product that
protects headlights.  But after contacting 3M I discovered that they
have something similar for paint, but nothing with the proper optical
clarity.

I'm always looking for good set of used headlights for my car.
