Need input on my 1990 Quattro Coupe's new suspension/alignment specs .....please!
I have recently installed a brand new suspension consisting of H&R lowering
springs, Boge Turbo Gas struts, upper strut bearings, dust caps and tie rod
ends. My car feels and looks fantastic. I even installed (2) -3" DTM tips
which look and sound awesome.
I have a question regarding the alignment specs. The Sears auto department
did the alignment and I am not 100% certain it was done to spec. I have
recreated the printout as best possible below: My German mechanic said it
was fine to take it to Sears since all the equipment measures the same. BUT
does the technician care or take the time the same???? Please give me your
best input whether or not I should have them adjust my alignment any
differently. My car has 125k miles and is used primarily on the highway
/occasionally on the street/ rarely in sporting events. I am using the stock
Speedline wheels 7x15 with 205/60 r15H Bridgestone RoadHandler GT tires.

A note was added to the alignment: " THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT SPECIFY A
FRONT CASTER ADJUSTMENT"
Then why is there a specified range?

The report still shows my LEFT FRONT/CASTER is out of specified range. Is
this correctable??
I know my tires were worn on the inner most part of the tread closest to the
engine. He said my toe was WAY off to begin with. Is that the cause of the
tire's inner most wear??

The BENTLEY manual shows the following specs which look quite different from
the above values.
COUPE
Front Axle:
Total Toe: +0.10' +/- 0.10'
Camber: -0.50' +/- 0.30'
Max difference in camber between both sides: max0.30'
Toe Angle difference at 20.0' lock to left and right -1.0' +/- 0.30'
Caster (not adjustable) +2.15' +/- 0.30'
Max difference in caster between both sides: max 0.30'
Rear Axle:
Camber : -.045' +/- 0.30'
Max difference in camber between both sides: max0.30'
Total Toe: +.020' +/- .10'
Toe per wheel +.10' +/- 0.5'

What is this saying, compared to the above specs?? Does anyone have
experience in alignment data????
Please let me know what you think.
