  Having the opportunity to drive my audi up pikes peak a few weeks ago, I
might mention a minor flaw in your plan, they insist you be off the mountain
by 6:00 pm.
  Just had to mention that I got to drive up it, as part if my vacation in
which we drove my 84 4kq from WA state to Boston, DC and every where else
putting on an additional 6k miles on a car that started out the trip with
apx 250k miles.  Had no problems except knocking the rearview mirror off
with my elbow and did need to change a wheel bearing and a CV boot when we
got home, they were on different corners of corse.
