Re: Octane vs. carbon buildup?



I tend to agree with your assessment but there must have been lot more 
incidences than what we see here if Audi issued a Technical Bulletin.  At 
least it must have shown a spike on their statistical analysis of 
problems.  As far as "external causes" I also have no clue.  Of course the 
latest recall of TT for loss of control in "extreme" conditions makes me 
wonder how much testing goes on particularly with the fuel changes in 
US.  Again, my paranoia may be showing.:)
