89 90FWD , There is (was) an under engine "cover" . This has been a PITA for
normal mtc -oil changes, dropping screws, etc. Is there really any purpose
for this cover (I can understand it might protect some parts of the engine
from road hazards, etc) or have most of you experienced audi pilots removed
it as superfulous(sp).
Thanks.
Mine wasn't attached when I bought my car, but the p/o still had it. It's now in my basement! I was told by an mechanic that it did protect the underside of the engine, but made it run warmer due to reduced air flow.
Let me know if you hear it's a MUST to keep on, so I can put it back!
