on certain models it is fastened to the right front of the tranny and on
others to the flat moulding of the rear of the tranny. they are different
sizes and not interchangeable. they are fastened to the tranny by two almost
inaccessible banjo bolts at considerable torque. oil leakage is stopped by
two 'o' rings in recesses on both banjo bolts...there was a running change
though and some used a different sealing method. in my case i was getting a
coolant leak and thought that the oil cooler was the problem. its location
makes checking difficult. when i removed it and the moulded hoses connecting
it to the engine cooling system i queckly discovered that the hoses were the
problem. i brought the hoses with me to 'auto parts source' a new division
of canadian tire, and the parts guy spent some time matching them up to
standard north american hoses which cost only a couple of bucks. while he
was on his search i roamed the store and discovered a huge selection of
studs in metric and imperial sizes....and a large selection of 'o' rings in
different rubber compounds. before reinstalling the oil cooler i had time to
paint it a flamboyant red...now the 5ks is able to burn rubber :>)
