High octane capable????????

Say HUH??? My understanding is that all cars are high octane "capable",
meaning that you can run higher octane than they require - they just won't get
any more power from it. But that's not what I believe the comment above is
intended to mean.
Audis are high octane REQUIRED. That means that if you don't use the
required octane, you're taking chances with engine damage from pre-ignition,
not to mention the loss of power which results from running lower octane than
your engine requires. The appropriate wording is not capable, but required.
I have no intention of letting the knock sensor determine how well my car runs
on any given day....
