Audi200 window adjustment pt. 2

My thanks to "Cobram" for his succinct and fast reply to my problem
re the sheared window guide grommet, and the cracket plastic "hat"
that rides atop the vertical height adjustment screw. It seems likely that
the problem came when the plastic hat cracked allowing the window to
exceed its travel limits, resulting in the grommet which hold the
passenger window in its channel, to shear. My question now is: Does the
decapitated grommet which remains in the channel require th e removal of
the inner panel. The grommet cannot be removed by sliding it upwards
as the channel is closed at the top, and it doesn't appear to want to exit
on the bottom of the channel either. I suspect Ill have to pull the inner
panel out. There are several electrical connectors thast will have to be
dxed, but I don't want the door locking linkages to be dxed as well.

Any special procedures for r&ring the grommet and the hat for the height
adj. screw? I'd like to order the parts tommow and sew this job up,
before the next one comes knocking. Thanks for your help. Mike .
