What the hell did you guys smoke that morning?  Did you inhale some of Huw's 
momentary-lockup-smoke?  Perhaps you also have had a mousenest in your 
passenger compartment air intake, which quickly puts you in a dizzied state.  
Or gets you out of the car fast.

I've never sprayed so much Lysol into  air vents before.
