More Type 44 fun

I wish I'd never started this job.

I've got most bits out of the way. But there's a fundamental
showstopper - I can't get to the left side of the blower assembly,
either to get the boot from the aircon off, or to remove the hoses,
or to get the blower assembly to move. The problem is the aftermarket
aircon, which is mounted so close to the blower that it covers all the
vital components and prevents the boot from coming out. It seems to
be secured by four bolts - the nuts are visible around the firewall
orifice inside the car - but they're not captive bolts and I can't find
the heads on the engine bay side. In addition to the usual, I've had to
cope with at least two redundant carphone kits, a very comprehensive
alarm system, an aftermarket cruise control system and an aftermarket
aircon system.
