RE: Fluctuating Idle / more info.

Jim

Thanks for the input, this seems to be what is happening, this morning the idle was fluctuating between 1000 and 1200 just like your GT, I disconnect the ISV with the engine running and it now runs at 750rpm. So should I disconnect the ISV, switch off the ignition then re connect ISV and switch the ignition back on to get this bloody thing working right???

Cheers

Iain

> Since this morning I had a look at lunchtime and started the car tickover
was low instantly 200rpm, I then went for a drive to warm things up, and
found that after a couple of miles the idle would now sit at 1000rpm and
fluctuate of it's own accord back and forth to 1200rpm, spooky....... I know
it's halloween but this is stupid. So disconnect the ISV idle returns to
normal, reconnect ISV can't make it do the same trick. What the @##~~&&**
hell is going on. I did not touch any of the vac hoses in the engine bay
when fitting the gauges. Is the ISV toast or maybe I should try some WD40.

ISV. My coupe GT does the same thing. When cold it will hardly run at all,
when warm it idles at 1000-1200 rpm. If you disconnect the ISV and reconnect
it without cycling the ignition (techy speak for switching off and
restarting) then the ISV won't work.

Probably just coincidence that its started to happen at the same time as
your other work.
