I think I bought a 200TQ Avant.

Well, it came over me like a tidal wave, I couldn't help myself, it was
like watching a movie on some surreal screen where I have no control of
the sequence of events clicking past the projector rachet. I get a phone
call, 3PM Friday, from a friend who owns a shop. He needs a ride to drop
a car off for detailing, and stop by another shop to pick up a rebuilt
waterpump for a Rolls Royce. Fine, shouldn't take more than an hour.
Well, when we get to the Rolls shop, I park behind this gorgeous 1990(1)
200TQ Wagon. Shop owner tells me the owner left the car for some work, a
loud clunking in the front, and is interested in selling it. A quick
inspection revealed the clunking to be a loose strut (an alignment was
done 10 miles ago) all 3 bolts had been left loose on the right side. I
go for a test ride, I can't pry the smile off my face, I check under the
hood, no leaks, no squeeks, door handles work, everything works (first
time I've ever seen this on Audi that's for sale). I call the owner
back, "I'm interested, what are you asking?" It's all a haze now, but I
closed the deal (with a notable reluctance in my voice due to the
"unknown" noise in the suspension) at $3500.00. The car has a boni-fide
75,000 miles, one owner since new, dealer serviced up to 60K miles with
all receipts. Now I know what a Vegas wedding must be like. The wife
will be surprised when I come home with it on Monday, it's her new
grocery getter during the week and my new toy for the weekend. I think
it's either blue or grey with black leather interior, I was so busy
checking the mechanicals that I didn't bother to look at the color! I
should have been paying attention to the turbo posts over the years on
the Qlist....what have I done?
