RE: 89 Audi 90, frt CV boots



If the boot is in good shape and you know when it was last replaced, why go
through the hassle of pulling the half shaft?  It is possible to buy
replacement clamps for the boot.  Be sure to put some additional CVJ grease
in the boot, clean up the seating surfaces on the boot and the CVJ, put it
all back together again and call it good!  BTDT ...

I'm thinking that it is most likely that a boot that has already been
replaced is more likely to slip off this way than the original unit would be
...
