Re: Degreasing my clothes? (Help!)

Not stupid at all. I know how you feel.

My father has a saying about me. He tells me about his brother who's akin
to the semirespected, clown. He tells me that when he works on his car,
he's about 3/4 of the way to killing himself. He adds that I'm about 99%
near to killing myself. Anyway, my clothes tell the whole story.

Use dishwashinmg detergent. They're made to "cut" grease (I generally use
them for degreasing chores. I've found that Dawn works the best, by far.
Pretreat for a few minutes on both sides of the stain, add to wash with
the Dawn and the stain should be lessened or removed. Works very well on
blood, too. Other thing: I believe that on most stains, you should use
cold water, but I can't say for sure for oil. i've never really cared
about the clothes enough to experiment with temps. Just cleaned and
whatever happens, happens. On many types of stains, hot water will set
them permanent. I use lukewarm on all my clothes. Good luck.
