RE: UR-Q Timing belt BROKE (was: '85 UR-Q Won't Start)

Well I found out that the rotor did not rotate when I tried to start the
engine, then I noticed the cam did not rotate either. Then I looked for
the timing belt in the window by the timing belt cover... IT WAS GONE...

I'm going to cry...

Any Suggestions? What might have been damaged since this is the case?
Worst of all how much do you think this will cost... The dealer over here
said $2500+

Thanks for everyones help...

Aloha!

Yes, that would lead to a loss of spark ... that is in fact why I suggested
that you look for spark. If you find that you are getting spark, then the
next thing to do is to listen to be sure that you can hear the fuel pump
running. Those are the big 3 ... air leaks, loss of spark, no fuel.

If you aren't getting spark, take off the distributor cap and rotate the
engine until you see the rotor pointing at the tick mark on the base
(normally covered by the distributor cap). You should now be able to look
through the window in the bellhousing and see the TDC mark on the flywheel.
If you know where to look for the cam index mark on the left side of the
engine right above the valve cover mount you can use it instead of the
distributor.
