RE: '85 UR-Q Timing Belt Broke (Uh Ohhhh!!!)

Check thepartsconnection re item one. They had a sale going on the first
group of parts on your list, the timing belt, water pump etc., for @ $70
complete for the S4/6 engine. Not sure what or if they might have had on
sale for an 85 UR-Q but possibly worth a call.

Subject: RE: '85 UR-Q Timing Belt Broke (Uh Ohhhh!!!)

Hi Everyone!!!

I'm delving into unknown territory. Well I guess it looks like I will have
to pull the Cyl Head and replace a bunch of stuff... Blau and Linda at
Carlson Audi will be getting a call from me tomorrow.... If anybody has
some parts I need for sale PLEASE let me know.

Here's a list of parts I think I will need... I just want to know if I need
anything else or any suggestions for improvements I can make while the
engine is apart anyways.

Timing Belt
T/Belt Tensioner
Water Pump & Gasket
Frt. Lower Crank Seal.
BLAU has all this for $141.76

Cylinder Head Gasket
Cover Gaskets

I probably will also have to get the following: (hope not)
Valves
What else do I have to get with them?

And since everything is off:
New belt set ($25.95 BLAU)
I would also like to replace all the nuts/bolts/screws that show signs of
corrosion. Does anybody know where I can get a kit for that?

Any suggestions on a new camshaft? I hear a Schrick Cam is a good upgrade
and there are a few types of cams? (I prefer better lower end power than
upper end.) Any place I can get one cheap???

Would A WC turbo do anything for me?

Should I check the pistons for carbon/etc. Can I clean this since its
exposed?
