Subject: Fuel Line Leak at Crimp

Is there any BTDT on trying to re-crimp a leaking fuel line? The car is a
'93 100 CSQ. Beside / from the fuel filter, the braided flex hose is
crimped to green tubing. This would be under pressure and leaks a bit at
start up, especially now with cold starts. Rather than replace, I was first
considering if an attempt to re-squeeze the crimp would have a chance. Any
advice would be appreciated.

Go to http://www.audi-s-cars.com and read up on the fuel line crimp failure
that is common on the urS4/S6 models; they've contacted Audi and the NHTSA
and would appreciate your input, I'm sure. Most urS4/S6 owners have gotten
Audi to pick up the cost of the repair.
I haven't heard of this failure on the older cars (such as the type 44
V8/200/100/5000 models) even though there's a similar setup on the fuel line
to the underhood fuel filter.
