You are right about the ingenuity of the listers, it continues to
amaze me how successful they are. I think the fix that prescribes
the repair of seat heater indicator lights is quite the most
ingenious order of capability that I have heard. But those special
tools are expensive for a single fix, and it is quite insulting or
amusing to be told in the manual that no owner should contemplate
fixing light bulbs.
I just installed a K40 radar detector and the audi dealers
told the installer that the radio cannot be removed by non dealers
and that the special tools are not for sale.
I still have a sense of regret that it will some years before
there is enough out there for me to start my own mod program.
First will be to get the power up to the A8 Sport both with
respect to hp and torque. Of course the 2.7T owners will get to
rechip and mod their waste gates just as fast as Ned and others
can get development mules. Should be interesting.
