RE: I NEED A DEAD CAT! (4KQ senior project)

Rich, Jack decided to speak these words:

>Your sarcasm could use a visit to Mexico City where you'll see the effects
>of cars without cats. (I don't suppose you recall what Los Angeles looked
>like in the 70's?) And don't give me that "just mine and a few other's"
>argument. It doesn't wash and is why I mentioned ethics; you are not better
>than everyone else and you don't have a right to do this. I personally
>appreciate that cities are hundreds of times cleaner than they used to be
>because of emission control systems.

Interesting...especially since with a hollowed cat, my car passed the
smog test, in CALIFORNIA for god's sake well below the legal limits.
Isnt it funny? I think you suffer a flaw in your logic. I dont think
that the emmission control systems are 100% responsible for the cleaner
air. Think about it; 70's technologies vs. 90's tech (heck, even 80's
tech). WHat you had back in the 70's was a few million big american V8's
with big carbs running around all over the place, never recieving a tune
up, and we all know how accurate carbs are at delivering the right air
fuel mixture. A properly tuned fuel injected car, especially nowadays is
just as clean without a cat as with. Hell, remember the F50? That car
had a cat bypass for higher RPM's because it was just as clean without
it. Same with the 944 turbo if i remember correctly. I think you need
to do a bit more research and find out what is really responsible and
happening there....
