RE: S6 - Public Service Announcement
you are too modest, sounds like columbo could learn a thing or two from
you. <g>
I hope that no local bad guys are listers (very unlikely since there are
very few audis in this area) but I am 100% absolutely certain that
nobody will ever steal my car by driving it away. Why? Because it is
very unlikely that thieves will try to fix your car before stealing it!
Whenever I leave my car anywhere unprotected for a period of time, I pop
the hood and remove the coil wire. Usually I even leave the doors
unlocked (to save myself the grief of a broken window) because I know
they won't be able to drive it away. Of course this won't prevent
anyone from hooking it up and hauling it away, but let's face it, it is
an 86 and that scenario is very unlikely. We have an extremely high
rate of auto theft around here but it is virtually always joyriders, and
if they can't get it started, they can't take it. I think that everyone
should do this. Inconvenient having to pull the wire (oh, behave) all
the time? yes! More inconvenient than having your car stolen? NO!
